As you prepare for another holiday season, I thought it was a good time to revisit last year and bring some focus to your 2026 preparations.
Our team works alongside furniture retailers through every Cyber Week. We see where shoppers hesitate and where sales close. This post pairs that perspective with the industry data from 2025.
Last year set records again. Most of the headlines focused on headphones, gaming consoles, and toys.
Furniture retailers need a different read. A sofa is not a pair of earbuds. The shopper researches longer, spends more, and needs more confidence before they buy.
Here is what the 2025 data says about furniture, and where I would focus before Cyber Week 2026.
$44.2B
Online spend over the five days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday, up 7.7%
$11.8B
A record Black Friday, up 9.1%
$14.25B
Cyber Monday, still the biggest online day, up 7.1%
$31.1B
Furniture online holiday sales, up 6.6%, third behind electronics and apparel
On Cyber Monday alone, furniture accounted for $1.8 billion in online spend, up 5.4%.

Furniture discounts peaked at 18.8% off list price for the season. Electronics reached 30.9%. Toys reached 29.6%.

Furniture shoppers still bought.
That matters. Price alone did not drive the furniture purchase. Shoppers needed to see what was in stock, when it would arrive, and how they could pay for it.
What to do: before you cut price further, make sure your site answers the questions that stop a purchase. Local availability. Delivery dates. Financing.
In an Adobe survey of U.S. consumers, shoppers named furniture among the categories where they were most likely to use buy now, pay later. The usage numbers back it up.

What to do: show financing on the product page, before checkout. On a $1,200 sofa, a monthly payment shown early changes the decision. Offer the methods shoppers already use, including PayPal, Venmo, and Pay Later.

A furniture checkout built for desktop loses sales on a phone. Every extra field is a chance to abandon a $1,200 cart.
What to do: offer Apple Pay and Google Pay, cut checkout steps, and validate delivery addresses before the order is placed. A bad address on a furniture order costs a wasted truck route.

Shoppers now ask AI assistants what to buy. Those assistants recommend products they can read and understand. Thin product data gets skipped.
What to do: complete your product data. Titles, descriptions, dimensions, materials, and imagery. Structure it for AI answer engines as well as search engines. See how Blueport uses AI.
The average Shopify cart over Black Friday Cyber Monday weekend was $114.70. Salesforce found U.S. shoppers leaned toward many smaller purchases on Black Friday rather than large ones.
Furniture runs the other way.

A larger order carries larger risk. A declined card on a $4,000 order rarely gets retried. A fraudulent order does not cost you a package. It costs you the product, a delivery crew, and a truck route.
What to do: screen large orders before they ship, especially new customers ordering to new addresses.
Cyber Week 2026 starts on Thanksgiving, November 26. Ask these five questions now, while there is still time to act.
✓ Does financing show on the product page, before checkout?
✓ Can shoppers pay the way they already pay: PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay?
✓ Does your company name appear on the card statement?
✓ Are large orders to new addresses screened before they ship?
✓ Is your product data complete enough for AI assistants to recommend it?
