our Team

Over the past decade, the team behind Blueport Commerce developed the technology, processes and programs to enable traditional brick and mortar companies to find success online. The executives leading this team are:

Carl Prindle
President and Chief Executive Officer

Carl provides Blueport Commerce with strategic and product leadership as the company helps retailers build profitable e-commerce channels for products once thought “impossible” to sell online.

Before its evolution to Blueport Commerce, Carl was President and Chief Executive Officer of Furniture.com, growing the company to a trusted technology provider to $4B in retailers.

Carl’s Furniture.com career started in 1999 as the original B2C company’s Senior Vice President of Product Development, overseeing the company’s website design, merchandising, and direct marketing efforts - and growth from $3M to $84M in annualized sales. In 2001, Carl led the effort to purchase the original company’s assets and launch the firm as an e-commerce solutions provider.

Prior to his life in e-commerce, Carl was an engagement manager with McKinsey and Company, where he served clients as a consultant for retail, technology, and growth strategy projects.

Before McKinsey, Carl worked in product design, including such projects as the design of the original Reebok Pump, Ford Explorer and Dustbuster. He has been issued 9 U.S. Patents and holds an Engineering degree from Stanford University and an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.

Carl is an avid squash player, the Chairman of the Board of a Boston elementary school, builds his own furniture and treasures time spent with his wife and son.
